Envoy would like to congratulate Omaha’s Open Door Mission on the grand opening of the Lydia House, a facility that offers life-changing programs for women, children and families. Two Envoy staff members attended the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, and we were happy to see such great turnout from the community. The new Lydia House is truly beautiful, and it’s very much needed.
Working with Open Door Mission, we were surprised to learn that the average age of a homeless person today is 9, and more than 12 million children in the United States are currently homeless. Domestic violence is another devastating problem, and the Lydia House provides safety, shelter and programs for women and children escaping such situations, as well as for homeless families.
When we partner with clients like Open Door Mission and Lydia House, we see a different side of life, and we become aware of the need in the community. We are proud to work with these and other organizations that do so much for those in need.
It has been wonderful working with the Open Door Mission, and we wish them the best of luck with the new Lydia House. To learn more about Open Door Mission and Lydia House, as well as to find out how to volunteer, visit the new website at opendoormission.org.
